Sailaja-Nandigama_right

Sailaja Nandigama from India will delivere the 100th ISS doctorate defence on 22 December 2009. Her thesis title is: 'Transformations in Making: Actor-networks, Elite control and Gender Dynamics in Forest Management in Adavipalli, Andhra Pradesh, India.'

This will be a memorable occasion since it will be the last ISS doctorate Defence. All future Defences at ISS will be held under the auspices of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

MA-Graduation-Ceremony_right

The MA awarding ceremony took place on 11 December. Congratulations to all the new MA graudates and good luck for the future. You can take a look at the photographs of the many smiling faces here.

The latest edition of ISS journal DevISSues is now available online and as hard copy. Dealing with the topic 'Migration in a Globalizing World' it includes articles looking at various aspects of migration and migration policy.
