OxfamNovib and the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) have joined hands in ‘It’s NOT the Economy, Stupid!’, a series of five debates on the ‘outskirts’ of the international economic crisis. The main questions are: what are we missing in our analyses of the causes of the current crisis, and what are the implications for developing countries?

The first debate will feature political scientist and activist Susan George of the Transnational Institute, and ISS and ILO economist Professor Rolph van der Hoeven. (Professor van der Hoeven replaces the original speaker, Mr. Frank Heemskerk, Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade)
