Civil Society Building Knowledge Programme presents: MA Research Internships 2010
Are you a 2009/2010 Masters student at ISS?
Are you interested in conducting innovative research on civil society building?
Would you like to work closely with both researchers and development practitioners?
If this applies to you, please come and join us in our upcoming information session on MA research internships, offered by the Hivos/ISS Civil Society Building Knowledge Programme.
Hivos (Humanist Institute for Development Cooperation) and the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) have been working together since 2005 in a joint research programme to contribute to the debate on Civil Society Building (CSB). At the core of this collaboration is the interaction between practitioners and researchers to facilitate knowledge development, dissemination and application.
Around four ISS Masters students will be selected each year for the research internships through a competitive process. These internships will form part of the Research Paper process (partial fulfilment of requirements for ISS MA students) of the selected students. A research internship within the Knowledge Programme entails the opportunity to undertake field research in July/August 2010, linked to specific case studies and/or Hivos partner organisations.
For those candidates whose proposals are chosen, will receive:
- A budget for field research costs (covering travel and accommodation if needed).
- Advice and feedback from Hivos staff (in the field and in the Hague).
- Access to the global network of Hivos partners.
- The possibility to disseminate the results of your research through a variety of media.
Would you like to find out more about the Knowledge Programme, Hivos, the requirements, and the guidelines for the submission of a proposal? Come and join us at this informative meeting and motivate your fellow students to come along with you!
