Religion is a vital force in most societies, rich and poor. This symposium will explore the significance of religion for development. In particular, it seeks to investigate whether religion can promote development, and how. In order to do this, it is first necessary to establish precisely what the concepts of religion and development mean.

Symposium to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Chair for Religion & Development of professor Gerrie ter Haar.

With Anton Houtepen, Dele Olowu, Tariq Ramadan, Lisette van der Wel, Awraham Soetendorp and many others.
