ISS News

Mohamed Salih Deputy Rector Research Affairs

Mohamed Salih has been appointed the new Deputy Rector Research Affairs. He will take up this position in September 2011 for a period of three years. Mohamed Salih is currently Professor of Politics of Development at ISS and the Department of Political Science, University of Leiden.

Wil Hout member of International Accreditation Council

In its March meeting in Oslo, the EADI Executive Committee of EADI (the European Association for Development Research and Training Institutes) appointed former ISS Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Wil Hout,as Member of the International Accreditation Council for Global Development Studies and Research (IAC/EADI), which will be set up as an autonomous agency of EADI.

The task of the IAC will be to oversee the process of accreditation of training programmes in development studies in Europe and beyond and to initiate partnerships and capacity building activities with institutes in the global South.

Open to all students wishing to study at ISS, the Scholarship Fund for Excellent Students and the Hardship Fund, offer self-financing students the opportunity to receive a discount on the tuition fee.

ISS alumni meetings in Japan in June

Meetings with be held in Tokyo (1 June) and Kyoto (7 June). Dr. Howard Nicholas, Senior Lecturer in Economics of ISS will be hosting these meetings, which will also include drinks and a (buffet)dinner.
