The Executive Office is responsible for support to the Institute Board, the Advisory Board and the Institute Council. This includes support of the communication activities of these bodies.

The Executive Office is responsible for policy-development and implementation in the area of

• strategy,
• organization,
• rules & regulations
• corporate communication and public relations.

The latter includes activities regarding an external audience (public events), press and alumni and the production/maintenance of communication and marketing instruments (including the ISS website).

The Executive Office is responsible for the coordination of the various communication and marketing activities from various corners in the institute and supports these activities (as long as not executed by EO) wherever possible. This includes drafting ISS wide plans and implementing them in close cooperation with the Office of Research, Projects and Advisory Services and OEA.
