Human Resources and Local Development (Staff Group 3)
Particular attention is paid to the changing configuration of labour and gender relations and their implications for employment, income generation and livelihood. The group has a common interest in local governance and local economic development.
The policy orientation is not confined to the national state but examines institutional arrangements between different actors such as:
- national and local governments
- NGOs and community-based organizations
- trade unions
- business interest associations
- women's organizations
In this context, research is guided by an exploration of strategies and policies for equitable development and social justice, focusing on gender equality and poverty alleviation.
