  • More than 25 ISS alumni met in Jakarta on the 31st of October 2008. The meeting was a joint event with alumni of the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS). ISS' alumnus Max Pohan (DPT 1986/1987 and EPP 1990/1991) was one of the speakers during this joyful evening.

  • Over 60 ISS alumni met in Pasig City in the Philippnes on 24 October 2008. The meeting was hosted by Avé Baxa of ISS (alumna herself) and Marcelina Bacani, Assistant Director General of NEDA, who has kindly offered the support of NEDA in organising the event.

  • Karin Arts of ISS met five ISS alumni in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on 19 August 2008. Present during the informal gathering were Georges Landau (Diploma in Public Administration, 1957), Sallustio Rosa (Diploma in Economic Development 1978/1979), Monique Vandresen (PADS 1992/1993), Mariana Roversi (PAD 2003/2004) and Angela Collet (PAD 2005/2006).

  • More than 15 ISS alumni met with Martin Blok in Bangkok on 27 June 2008. For more pictures you can check this link from Nipapan.

  • Four ISS alumni met in Geneva met on 24 June 2008. From left to right: Meenakshi Ahluwalia (India, USS 2005, working at UNDP), Yoshie Ichinohe (Japan, ARD 1998/1999, working at the ILO), Ricardo Furman (Peru, ARD 1994/1995, now at IUCN, the World Conservation Union) and Michaela Told (Austria, W&D, 1995/1996, freelance consultant and parttime coordinator Global Health Programme). The meeting was hosted by ISS' Frances Morris and Sandra Nijhof.

  • On the 2nd of June, 8 Mozambican alumni met with ISS' Rector Louk de la Rive Box, members of the Nuffic NPT project ’Good Governance and Public Administration (GGPA)’ Nicholas Awortwi and Adriano Nuvunga, and Head ORPAS Johan van Dijk in one of Maputo’s finest restaurants ‘Costa do Sol’. We were happy to be in the position to greet again Adriano Nuvunga (alumnus and currently working as our GGPA project manager), Jose Adalima, Amilcar Pereira, Jorge Graça, Florence Bukali, Paula Monjane, Eduarda Uinge and Ernesto Macuacua, who all shared with us this wonderful evening.

  • More than 15 alumni of ISS met in Kathmandu, Nepal on 21 May 2008, with ISS' Michel Wesseling. Apart from ISS alumni, representatives of the Netherlands Alumni Association Nepal as well as the Dutch consul, Hans Heijdra, attended the meeting. More pictures can be found here.

  • Over 100 ISS alumni attended a very lively alumni meeting in Kampala, Uganda, on 10 May 2008. Sylvia Bergh of ISS hosted the meeting.

  • Several ISS alumni from the MA 2006/2007 batch met in April 2008 in Cartagena, Colombia.   • 21 March 2008, Hanoi, Vietnam: ISS alumni and staff of the Vietnamese Women's Union had a wonderful get together with ISS' Louk de la Rive Box (Rector), Thanh Dam Truong, Peter Knorringa.
  • ISS' professor Mansoob Murshed met with approx. 20 alumni in Islamabad, Pakistan on 14 March 2008. We were pleased that the Netherlands Embassy in Islamabad was represented by the ambassador and the Fellowship officer.
  • Three ISS alumni met with ISS lecturers Kees Biekart and Rosalba Icaza on 25 February in San Salvador, El Salvador
  • On the 7th of January ISS Associate Professor Max Spoor gave a lecture entitled "Dragons with Clay Feet: Growth and Inequality in China and Vietnam", at the Centro Cultural de la Cooperacion (related to the University of Buenos Aires) in Argentina. The lecture was organised by Acaneb (Asociacion Argentina de Ex Alumnos de Holanda), the alumni association of those who studied in the Netherlands, and in particular by ISS alumna Ms. Alejandra Gutierrez, from ARD 1994. Approx. 25 people attended the lecture while 13 alumni gathered for the alumni dinner afterwards.
