Land

Land, Poverty, Social Justice and Development Land has remained high in the official agendas of multilateral international development institutions, social movements, development funding agencies, and the academic community. Land, broadly defined, is a cross-cutting theme in research and teaching interest at the Rural Development, Environment and Population Studies. The current land research initiative at ISS is a continuity of the long tradition of research and teaching by many staff at the institute.

What the Land initiative does

The land initiative continues to evolve. It has recently launched an international conference, completed a joint research with UNDP, and will launch the Routledge/ISS Book Series in Land and Livelihoods. More initiatives on research, trainings and publication will be developed and pursued in the future.
