Study visits

Every year our students go on study visits which are an important part of the curriculum. The study visits enable our students to see in practice the theory they learn in class.

On Tuesday the 6th of December 2011, the ARD and ESD groups had a one-day field trip as part of their 'Political Economy of Agriculture and Environment' course.

08.15 Departure from the ISS
9.30-11.30 visit to Tomato World (see www.tomatoworld.nl) which is a permanent (inter-active exhibition of tomato producers in the Westland, looking at production. environment, pollution, etc.)
11.00-11.30 a small lunch (in a package, called "Bakje Westland")
11.30 Leave for Delft
12.00 Visit to the Water Board Delfland (Hoogheemraadschap).  
13.00 Leave for water cleaning facility (AWZI) in the Harnasch Polder Schipluiden (see http://mooi.middendelfland.net/awzi/awzi.htm)
13.30 Tour AWZI
15.30 End of fieldtrip
