Research

My current research is on environmental conflicts around large-scale mining projects in Ecuador and Turkey. My focus is on understanding local struggles over environment by situating them in larger state and society relations, and by analyzing how they transform political subjectivities of the social actors involved. More broadly, I am interested in political economy of environment and development.
