Research
I am presently conducting a PhD research on the role of civil society in the economic partnership agreement process between the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the European Union (EU). At the heart of my research is the construction of civil society and the framing of its role in the partnership process. Overall, how is civil society to be understood and what type of civil society would be required for a particiaptory development, as proclaimed in the Cotonou Agreement-inspired EPA. My professional experience has been primarily in the academics, where I have been a classroom teacher for couple of years at different levels. In line with my scholarship pursuit, I have attended a number of academic coneferences. My research interest is multidisciplinary in orientation, cutting across issues in civil society, economic integration, new regionalism and global governance, to problems of democracy and development in the global South.
