What is ISS?/Wat is ISS?

ISS is an international graduate school of policy-oriented critical research and teaching in the field of development studies. ISS students - 300 to 400 per year - come from more than 60 countries, primarily developing countries and countries in transition. The focus of ISS teaching and research is on the sharing of personal experiences and ideas. ISS works closely with universities in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In 2009 ISS became part of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Het ISS is een internationaal academisch instituut waar onderzoek en onderwijs wordt verricht op het gebied van ontwikkelingsstudies. De studenten van het ISS - 300 à 400 per jaar - zijn afkomstig uit meer dan 60 landen, voor het merendeel ontwikkelingslanden. De nadruk ligt sterk op het uitwisselen van ervaringen en gezichtspunten. Het ISS werkt nauw samen met universiteiten in zowel Azië, Afrika als Latijns Amerika. Sinds 2009 is het ISS een onderdeel van de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.
