What is the Cheetah Challenge?
Organized by the NCDO (a Dutch expertise and advisory centre for citizenship and international cooperation) in association with the Prince Claus Chair on Development and Equity, the Cheetah Challenge is a thesis competition about international cooperation.
It is open to masters students and young researchers who, as contemporaries of the ‘Cheetah Generation’ of new African leaders, will be brimming with exciting ideas and new insights into development, equity and global citizenship.
How to enter the Challenge
To enter the Challenge your MA thesis must meet the following requirements:
- The thesis was submitted to a Dutch university in 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012
- It was awarded a grade of 8 or higher
- It is in Dutch or English
- It is accompanied by a synopsis of no more than 400 words, which explains why you believe your work offers new insights into ‘international development, equity and global citizenship’.
The five shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit an essay on the topic of 'development, social equity and global citizenship’, based on their research.
The essay should be between 1,800 and 2,200 words in length and must be written in English.
