Alumnus Kan Zaw (Myanmar) visits ISS

Minister of National Planning and Economic Development
ISS alumnus professor dr Kan Zaw visited ISS on 4 March 2013 to start a discussion on future cooperation between his ministry and ISS. Mr Kan Zaw is currently Minister of National Planning and Economic Development in the Republic of Myanmar and he studied the MA programme Regional Development Planning at ISS in 1983/1984. Before being appointed as Minister, mr Kan Zaw was Deputy Minister and Rector of the Economics University.
The Deputy Minister of Commerce of Myanmar, H.E. Dr Pwint San, as well as the Consul General of Malta and Myanmar in The Netherlands, mr H.J. Stevens, joined professor dr Kan Zaw in his visit to ISS which was the first time he returned to ISS since his graduation in 1984.
ISS was represented by the Deputy Rector Research professor Mohamed Salih, the former supervisor of mr Kan Zaw, professor Bert Helmsing as well as Alumni Officer Sandra Nijhof.
