Peace Diplomacy, Global Justice and International Agency

The ISS is one of the founding fathers of The Hague Academic Coalition and is actively involved in this conference. The conference is not only meant as a tribute to Dag Hammarskjöld. Because of Dag Hammarskjöld’s important role in the early decolonization processes and in making the UN truly independent, the conference aims to critically analyse the relationship between justice, peace, democracy and development.

The conference will be opened with a keynote speech by Louis Moreno-Ocampo, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. On Day 2, 10 November, panel sessions will be held on the basis of papers to be presented by professionals from a wide range of disciplines and countries.
