About the debate

Dr. Huib Huyse and Sarah Vaes from the Research Institute on Work and Society (HIVA/Katholic University of Leuven), will visit the Institute of Social Studies to share a recent and refreshing Belgian perspective.

Their research offers a series of thought provoking scenarios that are highly relevant for serious reflection on the future of development cooperation in 2020.

After short presentations of the scenarios you will be challenged to work in groups to further develop your own perspective and to bring these into a final discussion with representatives of Dutch aid-agencies, academics and International students from the ISS.
