7th Development Dialogue

Setting the agenda for development, 2-3 June 2009

In 2009 the Development Dialogue, proposed a collaborative effort to identify the agenda of development.

PhD candidates and other young researchers in the field of development can be key contributors to the debate on development. As they embark on their dissertation research projects, they select topics that are in principle most pressing and relevant to development, some of which would in fact be completely neglected otherwise. PhD candidates are privileged by the combination of field experience, state of the art methodologies and investigation tools provided by their disciplines. In the process of writing their dissertation, they generate substantive knowledge and information that need to be shared and reflected upon. Is this new generation of informed scholars setting the research agenda for development?
