8th Development Dialogue

The 8th Development Dialogue 21-22 June, 2010 Knowledges for Development, Development for Knowledges

During the last couple of decades there has been a renewed interest in the knowledge being produced for and used in development. Questions relating to what/which/whose knowledge counts for development have been subject to ongoing debates. More specifically, the place, contributions, and implications of different forms of knowledge and practices within the field of development studies have been at the centre of this debate. Conversely, how development itself contributes and shapes the production of knowledge has also attracted a lot of interest.

The 8th Development Dialogue gave PhD students the opportunity to actively engage in this debate within their respective areas of research.

The conference papers covered a wide range of development issues including:knowledges, conflict, labour, gender and social programmes, environment, civil society and participation, education and youth, health, trade and aid.
