Part 4

The third debate organized by ISS and OxfamNovib on the state of the economy.

During the third debate of this series we examined 'The first 100 days of president Obama' on the international stage. Politicians, academics and journalists assessed whether Obama really represents the new international approach many people are hoping for.

Within a setting that represents the British House of Commons, all participants are invited to join the discussion.

How to judge his economic and international policy agenda? And what will be the repercussions for the third world?

Among the participants were:

Ashwani Saith - Professor of rural economy at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague and professor of development issues at the London School of Economics.

Kathleen Ferrier - Dutch MP for the Christian Democratic Alliance, spokesperson on developmental issues.
