The final debate in this series was held on 11 June 2009 with Noreena Herz and Frank Heemskerk.

The final debate of this series hosted the renowned international scholar on global economic issues Noreena Hertz, and the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade Frank Heemskerk. They proposed and discussed possible responses to the current economic crisis, in particular related to international free trade agreements and corporate social responsibility. In addition, they touched upon the ambitions of the Dutch government in this discussion.

Noreena Hertz is a professor of economics and author of The Silent Takeover (2001) and IOU: The Debt Threat and Why We Must Defuse It (2005). She is an Associate Director of the Centre for International Business and Management at the University of Cambridge and a visiting professor of Global Political
Economy at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Frank Heemskerk was a member of parliament before he was appointed Minister for Foreign Trade. Prior to his political career Heemskerk worked for ABN AMRO, where he started as an analyst at Corporate Global Clients after which he became vice-president of Institutional Servicing in the Middle East.
