Philip McMichael

Philip McMichael is Professor of Development Sociology, Cornell University. Current research applies food regime analysis to the food/energy crisis and transnational agrarian movements. He has edited Contesting Development: Critical Struggles for Social Change (2010), co-edited, with Fred Buttel, New Directions in the Sociology of Global Development (2005), and authored Settlers and the Agrarian Question (1984), and Development and Social Change: A Global Perspective (2008).
