Victoria Marin-Burgos
Victoria Marin-Burgos is a PhD candidate at University of Twente (Twente Centre for Studies in Technology and Sustainable Development - CSTM) in the Netherlands since June 2009. She holds a degree in Law from Colombia (1999). In 2004 she received her Master degree in International and European Law from Utrecht University (LL.M) and in 2008 she obtained a Master degree in International Relations from Bologna University (MA). Her research explores mechanisms and processes of governance at different scales that affect access to land, and the related implications for the human rights enjoyment and realization of the affected individuals and communities. Her PhD research particularly focuses on biofuels, access to land and human rights in Colombia, combining concepts, theories and analytical frameworks from political ecology, ecological economics and human rights. Her research interests include: access to natural resources and human rights, biofuels, governance of land-based activities, land governance, natural resources and conflict, peasants agriculture and agrarian studies.
