Part-time or non-resident PhD
Current facets (Pre-Master)
Do you want to do your PhD at ISS but unable to reside in The Hague? You may be eligible to complete your PhD as a non-resident researcher.
Non-resident PhD researchers have the possibility to do the programme part-time.
ISS will only admit PhD researchers to a part-time programme if they can dedicate two-thirds of their time (i.e., a minimum average of 26 hours per week) to their research. The nominal enrolment in the PhD programme would, therefore, be 6 years.
The Research Degrees Committee decides on the admission of applicants as part-time PhD researchers, upon the advice of their prospective Doctoral Dissertation Supervisors/ supervisors.
