ORCID® provides a persistent digital identifier (an ORCID iD) that you own and control, and that distinguishes you from every other researcher. As this author identifier is gaining ground and is required by more journals and funders, having a complete and correct ORCID profile is vital.
ORCID iDs: you see them in academic databases, on journal articles and in grant applications. Your ORCID iD is a unique, open digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher - even if they have the same or a similar name to you. Having a complete and correct ORCID profile can help you properly present yourself and your publications and make them more visible. ORCID iDs are more than an alternative to a name. They link your outputs in many online systems: from academic databases to alternative metric providers.
To find out more about the what, why, and how of author identifiers in general and ORCID in particular, join the Library's workshop on February 12th, 14:00-15:30 at ISS. Don't forget to register! Seating is limited.
