Aminata Cairo - Lector Incusive Education - Haagse Hoogeschool

On 7 September, the International Institute of Social Studies will hold an event to open its 2018-2019 MA programme in Development Studies.

The speaker this year is Aminata Cairo, Lector Inclusive Education at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Her lecture is entitled 'And Now it Begins...'.

In her lecture, Aminata will inspire students as they are about to embark on their new academic journey through reflecting on her own as an international student in the United States. Born to Surinamese parents in the Netherlands, Aminata ended up in the mountains of Appalachia.  Her experiences from rural Berea, Kentucky, to ultra-urban Baltimore, Maryland and her home country Suriname prepared her for her present stop in the Netherlands.
