On 20 June 2019, Dr Jelena Brkic Smigoc from University of Sarajevo will give a seminar entitled 'The role of personal values in explaining the political (non) participation of students in Bosnia and Herzegovina'. This seminar is part of the Research in Progress ERASMUS+ Seminar held at ISS.

Dr Jelena Brkic Smigoc currently works at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo. Jelena does research in Behavioural Science, Social, Political and Developmental Psychology. Her  most recent publication is 'Lifetime and past-year prevalence of children's exposure to violence in 9 Balkan countries:

THE BECAN study'.Her research mainly focuses on children and youth. She is interested in understanding how personal factors influence everyday social choices of youth. In addition,  she also conducts research on  on violence against children with a focus on risk and protective factors relevant for children's victimization and safety.
