Panel discussion recognizing volunteers worldwide. #IVD2018
International Institute of Social Studies will celebrate the National Volunteering day on 7 December.
The panel discussion is titled 'Volunteers build resilient communities' which recognizes volunteers worldwide – with a special focus on local community volunteers at the International Institute of Social Studies and The Hague.
Volunteers contribute to making their communities more resilient against natural disasters, pollution, economic stresses and political shocks.
This discussion is part of a campaign that combines the recognition of volunteers with concrete evidence from volunteerism within the International Institute of Social Studies community, NGOs as well The Hague at large.
#IVD2018 focuses on the values of volunteerism through the appreciation of local volunteers, including the marginalized groups and women, who make up nearly 60 per cent of volunteers worldwide, and their impact on building #ResilientCommunities.
