Database of the Month: Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB)

Directory of Open Access

In October, libraries, publishers and journals worldwide pay special attention to the topic of Open Access. On October 9, the Erasmus Open Access event takes place, anticipating the International Open Access Week (22 - 28 October 2018). The database of the month is therefore an Open Access database: the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB).

More and more books are published in Open Access, also by big publishers like Brill, De Gruyter, Springer and Oxford University Press. The goal of the DOAB is to increase the discoverability of Open Access, academic peer-reviewed books. The DOAB offers descriptions of OA (‘free to share’) books with links to the (freely accessible) full-text on the websites of the publishers.
You can browse by title, subject or publisher. You can also do a simple or advanced search.

Books in DOAB can also be found in sEURch.

DOAB can be accessed via the A-Z list of databases, or directly at https://www.doabooks.org/
