Why did you choose this major?

I chose the Economics of Development programme as it is a critical intersection between development studies and economics. I believe that the key to development and raising standards of living is through economic growth.

How will this major help you in the future (career wise)?

My hope is that I will be able to work for a developmental bank or micro-financer after my time at ISS.

What aspect of your major do you really like?

I enjoy the mix of developmental studies and governance with a more quantitative focus included in the Economics of Development programme.

Why did you choose ISS?

I chose ISS for its international community and focus on the social sciences, in particular the economic development specialization.

Professors challenge us to think critically, to ask questions and engage in class discussions and debates.

Would you recommend ISS to your peers?

Yes - ISS is a very unique and close-knit community of international students and teachers. The connections and experiences I have had at ISS will stick with me for life.

The cultural diversity of ISS?

Our batch consists of students from over 40 countries. I have met friends from all around the world and we often discuss our courses and politics from our home countries outside of class.
