A call for presentations for the Humanitarian Studies Centre (HSC) first anniversary one-day conference.

The Humanitarian Studies Centre was launched in August 2023 with a conference, which was so inspiring that we would like to make this an annual end of summer tradition. 'Humanitarian Studies: Today & Tomorrow' is the first of these conferences.

The conference will consist of three rounds of parallel presentations by both researchers and practitioners in and around the field of ‘Humanitarian Studies’.

Understanding humanitarian studies involves examining societies affected by crisis: something we all have insights to share and reflect upon.

  • How are humanitarianisms and societies in crisis addressing current conditions, and how might they do so in the future?
  • What are new trends you have seen in your own work?
  • Do you have ideas you would like to share with an interdisciplinary group?

Call for presentations

We invite presentations on emerging, published or in-process research or practice-oriented research.

Presentations are limited to 30 minutes each – preferably 20 minutes with a 10-minute Q&A. The sessions will be moderated by HSC staff and there are screens available to use for presentations.
