How we make sure the building is accessible to all
ISS building with tree in foreground

The International Institute of Social Studies strives to provide an accessible building for all our students, staff and guests. Our aim is to make our building as welcoming and functional as possible for all those who use it.

Access to the building

  • The main entrance on the Kortenaerkade has a call button for those unable to use the steps into the building.
  • On the side of the building, on the Bazaarlaan, there's another call button to gain access to the building.
  • We have a platform lift to help wheelchair users and others unable to use the stairs.

Gender-neutral toilets

Gender-neutral toilets are available on all floors. Here you can also find free of charge menstrual products.

Prayer and meditation room

We have a dedicated prayer and meditation room on the 5th floor which can be used for silent prayer and contemplation by all religions.

Lactation room

Nursing mothers can make use of a lactation room to express milk. A fridge is available in this room to keep the milk cool. The key to the lactation room can be collected from the ISS reception.
