Internship - Information Management & IT Operations

Location: International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University (The Hague location)
Start Date: End of January / Beginning of February 2026
Duration: 6 months

Are you a versatile and pragmatic problem-solver with an interest in information management and IT processes and operations? Do you enjoy bridging the gap between users, IT teams, and policy? If so, this internship at the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University (The Hague location) is perfect for you!

 

 

What will you do?

As an intern, you will support the Information/Demand Manager in determining, streamlining, and improving information provision within the faculty or service. You will also play an active role in daily operational IT tasks. You will participate in projects, analyze user inquiries, and contribute to an optimal IT experience for students and staff.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating on improvement projects for applications and processes: You will help optimize existing systems and processes to better meet user needs, including drafting manuals, work instructions, and process documentation.

• Assisting in increasing the adoption of new applications/tools (e.g., training, manuals, communication).

• Contributing to software and hardware policy development, including guidelines for use, standardization, and lifecycle management.

• Supporting the maintenance and updating of the processing register. Coordinating with departments on data flows, risks, and necessary measures.

• Assisting in daily demand management tasks, such as user management and hardware inventory.

• Participating in projects focused on digitalization, educational IT, or research facilities: You will have the opportunity to participate in innovative projects that promote digital transformation within the university.

What do you bring?

• You are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Information Science, ICT, Business IT & Management, Business Administration, Communication & Multimedia Design, or a similar field.

• You have an interest in both information management and policy as well as practical IT tasks.

• You work accurately, communicate clearly, and maintain oversight.

• You take initiative and enjoy collaborating with various departments.

• Experience with Office 365, ticketing systems, or data analysis is a plus, but not required.
