Your questions answered

Applications close on 1st July each year.

Yes. You can apply with a temporary transcript and expected graduation date. Any offer will remain conditional until final documents are submitted.

Applications begin in Studielink and are completed through the EUR Admission Portal.

Once you have enrolled in Studielink, you will receive an email with your login details for the EUR Admission Portal. 

In the EUR Admission Portal you need to answer some additional questions and upload the required documents. 

Only applications with the status ‘submitted’ will be processed.

Two references are required; one from an academic supervisor and one from a professional referee

Yes. You may apply before submitting your English test results. Your final offer will remain conditional upon receiving these documents.

Yes. Your application can be saved and completed before the deadline.

Yes. Admission offers remain valid for up to two years. Please refer to our deferrals procedure for further information, or contact admissions@iss.nl 

Requirements depend on your nationality. ISS will advise you on this matter.

ISS will arrange your visa application after your finances are confirmed. Please do not apply independently, as this will slow down the process. The Admissions Office will guide you through the entire process.

Your passport should remain valid for at least 6 months after the end of your studies at ISS.

A birth certificate is not required.

Yes. Housing is available for all students who apply on time.

For further information about accommodation, please visit the housing page, or contact housing@iss.nl 

Accommodation includes furniture, linen, utilities and internet access. There is also a shared kitchen.

Students should budget approximately €1,200-€1,400 per month, depending on lifestyle and accommodation choices.

The monthly rent for a single room at ISS student housing (Dorus Residence) is approximately €750.

You can easily take the train from Schiphol to Den Haag Centraal, or Den Haag HS (approximately 30 minutes). 

You can take Tram 1 towards Scheveningen Noord to Mauritskade. This is the closest tram stop to ISS (approximately 5 minutes' walk).

Local cab services or Uber are also available.

Yes. Health insurance is mandatory for all students. ISS can aid in the process of securing health insurance through AON, or you can arrange health insurance independently.

ISS has its own study association called Scholas, which has several committees organising social, cultural and academic events for students.

ISS offers extensive counselling, wellbeing support, academic skills support and disability accommodations.

ISS graduates work across NGOs, international organisations, governments, research institutions and the private sector.

Graduates with EU/EEA nationality can work without restriction upon graduation.

Graduates with non-EU nationality can apply for an Orientation Year/Zoekjaar visa for one year to find a job as a highly skilled migrant.
