In the book she examines the resistance practices of people of non-normative genders and sexualities to armed conflict, political repression and authoritarianism in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. 

About the speaker

Pascha Bueno-Hansen is an Associate Professor of Women and Gender Studies and Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware, USA. The Spanish edition of her first book, Feminist and Human Rights Struggles in Peru: Decolonizing Transitional Justice (2015), was published in 2020 by the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos and earned a Premio Iberoamericano honorable mention by the Latin American Studies Association. In 2022, the Colombian Truth Commission contracted her as an international consultant.

Bueno-Hansen has published articles in journals including the International Feminist Journal of Politics, the International Journal of Transitional Justice, Latino Studies, Hypatia and the Journal of Peacebuilding and Development.
