Organized by the Netherlands International Cooperation Collection and hosted at the International Institute of Social Studies, this symposium will examine Dutch feminist foreign policy.
Based on the story of Eveline Herfkens, former minister for development cooperation (1998-2002), the symposium will examine how Minister Herfkens used a feminist approach throughout her career and as minister propagated feminist foreign policy avant la lettre.
The symposium will begin with a lecture by Marene Elgershuizen from the FEPS Young Academic Network Europe.Â
The lecture will be followed by a conversation about what distinguishes Feminist Foreign Policy from previous approaches and what this policy might look like in practice.
