Graduation ceremony: 2024-2025 MA in Development Studies batch

On 18 December, the 2024-2025 batch will celebrate the successful completion of their MA in Development Studies. They're about to make a tremendous accomplishment. Before they cross the floor to receive their degree, here are a few details about our ceremony.

  • 15:30 - Opening  by Dr Roy Huijsmans, Deputy Rector for Education Affairs
  • 15:40 - Farewell to our students speech by Professor Ruard Ganzevoort, Rector ISS
  • 15:50 - Speech by Dr Georgina Gomez
  • 16:00 - Awarding of degrees to graduates in the Social Justice Perspectives, Economics of Development, and Agrarian, Food and Environmental Studies majors and Double Degree graduate
  • 16:25 - Speech by outgoing members of student association SCHOLAS
  • 16:40 - Good Teacher Award
  • 16:50 - Launch of the 2025 Good Essay Book
  • 17:00 - Announcement of names of Mundus MA in Public Policy students who successfully completed their first year
  • 17:05 - Awarding of degrees to graduates in the Governance of Migration and Diversity track, Social Justice Perspectives, and Social Policy for Development majors
  • 17:20 - Research Paper Award
  • 17:30 - Reception

Information for graduates

  • Limited guests

    We want to ensure your family and friends can see you shine. However, due to the size of our Aula, we will have a limited number of guests allowed.

    Guests will be checked in at the front of the Aula before the ceremony. Should there be an overflow of guests, we will lead guests to an additional screening of the ceremony in the ISS Atrium, located on the 1st floor. Don't hesitate to contact us through the e-mail at graduation@iss.nl for questions and concerns regarding your guests.

    We're all about capturing memories! From the ISS tradition of country photographs to that epic moment when you receive your degree, we've got you covered. There'll even be a fun makeshift photo booth at the reception, so be ready to snap some awesome pics with your family and friends!

Information for guests

  • Parking

    At ISS: There is paid parking only in the vicinity of ISS, but be aware that spaces are limited. We recommend arriving early in advance to secure a space. Please contact reception@iss.nl in advance to obtain a parking pass.

    Nearby car park: We also suggest looking for car parks near the vicinity of ISS. We recommend the Hilton Hotel, which is across from ISS. For information regarding pricing and availability, visit the Hilton’s website.
