Agabo research examines how we can reduce menstrual stigma among schoolgirls. During this seminar, he presents his study examines interventions addressing stigma, information gaps and financial barriers among girls in Nigeria.
The findings highlight the power of correcting misconceptions about social norms: showing girls that their peers are more open to discussing menstruation than they might think reduced avoidance and public stigma while improving knowledge and information-seeking.
The seminar may be of particular interest to researchers, students and practitioners working on global health, development economics, gender, education, social norms and adolescent health.
