Organized by the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (ISS), the Dutch Agro-ecology Network’s Working Group on Labour and Migration and the dairy worker organization Migrant Justice from Vermont, USA, the event will address the exploitative working conditions, hostile societal environment and increasing state repression faced by a large number of migrant workers on both sides of the Atlantic.
Aims
- To raise awareness about the conditions of migrant workers’ in the agri-food chain in the USA and the Netherlands
- To learn about strategies that migrant workers and their organizations have used to advocate for their rights
- To strengthen support for and alliances of migrant workers and their organizations
