The film shows that some take up arms while struggling to stay true to their commitment to non-violence, while others engage in 'artivism', using music, poetry and art to bring about a peaceful, free, democratic and truly inclusive future for all people in Myanmar.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with:

  • Thet Swe Win – one of the protagonists in the film and awardee of the Dutch Foreign Ministry’s Human Rights Tulip Award
  • Myat The Thitsar – Coordinator of the Humanitarian Observatory Myanmar
  • Minka Nijhuis – Dutch journalist reporting on conflicts in Myanmar, Cambodia, Kosovo, Iraq and Syria.
  • Pyae Phyo Kyaw – Netherlands-Myanmar Solidarity Platform
