The Governance of Migration and Diversity track is part of a joint programme of the Centre on Governance of Migration and Diversity founded by Leiden University, Delft University and Erasmus University (LDE).
Students can take this track from various disciplines from the LDE universities and will take courses at all three universities.
NB. Please indicate in the Osiris application system whether you want to take this track. It is not possible to switch between this track and the regular ISS Master in Development Studies during the study programme.
Courses
Students take 20 credits on migration and its implications, consisting of four compulsory 5 credit courses: one course provided by each partner and one provided jointly as a core course.
ISS students must choose four of these five courses on offer:
ISS core course
- Governance of Migration and Diversity (GMD) - 5 credits
One ISS-GMD course
- Migration and Development (M&D): Livelihoods, Human Security and Intersectionality (ISS, EUR) - 5 credits
Three partner-provided courses
- Politics of Migration and Diversity (PMD) - (Public Administration, Erasmus University Rotterdam, EUR) - 5 credits
- Social Inequality in the City (Technical University Delft) - 5 credits
- Legal Perspectives on Migration and Diversity (Leiden University) - 5 credits
The rest credits will consist of the the ISS's Master in Development Studies regular curriculum. Students will be able to chose courses from the base programme and follow them with other students at ISS -> Development Studies Curriculum
