Submit a proposal for the 2025 Black Scholars and Experts Conference, taking place at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague on Friday, 31 October 2025.
This annual event brings together Black academics, artists, innovators, and thought leaders from across the Netherlands and beyond. We welcome contributions from researchers, students, independent scholars, policy experts, and cultural workers across all disciplines and career stages. Submissions are invited in both English and Dutch.
Proposal Formats
We encourage a wide range of formats to engage participants, including:
- Panel discussions
- Workshops
- Paper presentations
- Roundtables
- Creative formats (e.g. performances, short films, digital exhibits, audio work)

Contributions may focus on, but are not limited to:
- Afrofuturism
- Decolonial methodologies
- Health, wellness, and joy
- Cybersecurity and surveillance
- Climate justice
- Tech, AI, and digital sovereignty
- Diaspora and transnational solidarity
- Art, music, and cultural production
- Economic justice
- Mathematics, data, genetics, race, and ethics
