Dr Kaira Zoe Cañete joins editorial board of Environmental Hazards

Kaira Zoe Cañete recently joined the editorial board of Environmental Hazards, brining her expertise in feminist and anti-colonial perspectives on disasters, as well as critical research methodologies to the journal.

Environmental Hazards is recognized for its interdisciplinary approach to and international perspective on the human and policy dimensions of hazards. 

As a member of the editorial board, Cañete will help shape the journal's content, that encompasses issues around responses to and the creation of risk and vulnerabilities and foregrounds broader societal impacts on development and social justice. 

Kaira Zoe Cañete brings in expertise in feminist and anti-colonial perspectives on disasters, as well as critical research methodologies. She is a Filipino feminist scholar with training in Anthropology and Critical Development Studies. She is currently Senior Researcher at the Humanitarian Studies Centre at the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is also adjunct lecturer at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

She is also co-editor of the Journal of Disaster Studies and editorial board member for Disaster Prevention and Management Journal.
