The University Library has added PLOS (Public Library of Science) to Erasmus University Rotterdam’s national Open Access agreements. From 1 March 2026, EUR-affiliated corresponding authors can publish Open Access in the journals covered by the agreement with a 100% APC discount.
The University Library has joined the nationwide Open Access agreement with PLOS, negotiated by Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) in collaboration with SURF. This means that, as of 1 March 2026, EUR-affiliated corresponding authors can publish Open Access in the eligible PLOS journals with a 100% discount on the Article Processing Charge (APC).
Please note that this agreement applies to Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) researchers only. It is not applicable to Erasmus MC researchers.

Important: not visible in the EUR Journal Browser
Due to technical reasons, this agreement will not appear in the EUR Journal Browser. However, eligible EUR-affiliated corresponding authors are still entitled to the 100% APC discount for the seven journals listed above.
