What does the humanitarian-development-peace nexus look like in practice?

New publication by Dr Rodrigo Mena

In his new article published in Disasters, Dr Rodrigo Mena explores how the humanitarian–development–peace (HDP) nexus (also known as the triple nexus) is implemented on the ground.

Complementary currencies for humanitarian aid

Mena argues that effective practice is not about finding a single model of operation, but rather emerges through negotiation across organizational mandates, contextual realities and the trade-offs that shape humanitarian, development and peace interventions.

He thus prefers to talk about HDP nexuseS rather than a single nexus.
