On 28 May 2019, Subha Wijesiriwardena from Women and Media Collective (WMC) in Sri Lanka will deliver a lecture/workshop entitled 'LGBTQ++  Rights, Digital Activism and Gendered Surveillance in the Digital Age'. This event is supported by research group Civic Innovation

In this session, Subha Wijesiriwardena from the Women and Media Collective (WMC) in Sri Lanka wilI present her research which explores the intersections between gender, sexuality and the internet through a study of LGBT persons in Sri Lanka and their use of the internet; she will in particular focus on lesbian women’s experience and then open up the discussion on queer rights, digital safety and security and gendering surveillance in the digital age.
