He looks particularly into the role of intersecting social, political and economic power relations in anti-trafficking governance in India.
He contends that anti-trafficking governance policies and practices in India failed to deliver justice to the targeted individuals but instead further marginalizes them by placing them in the margins of society. In his conclusion, Jaffer Najar recommends amendements to current to current anti-trafficking policies in a way that delivers justice based on a prioritization of the perspectives of targeted individuals.
