On 31 January 2020, Sonia Carolina López Cerón will defend her PhD thesis entitled 'The stratified emergentist Polanyian perspective: a relational approach for the study of the economy of the family'
Working with 80 case studies in Colombia, she studies the economy of the family is an emergent, complex social phenomenon which both constitutes and is a result of the interplay of causal mechanisms from the structural, cultural and agential elements of the social system.

The doors will be closed after the start of the Public Defence, but will be briefly opened after the candidate’s introduction to allow latecomers to enter.
Children under 7 years old are not allowed in the Aula during the first part of the ceremony.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the Atrium of the ISS.
Professors are invited to join the academic procession.
