The ISS Global Impact Scholarship

The ISS Global Impact Scholarship

The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) offers the ISS Global Impact Scholarship to support motivated students who wish to pursue their studies at ISS.

The scholarship is open to international and Dutch/EU/EEA students who demonstrate strong motivation to study at ISS and have received an unconditional offer of admission to the MA in Development Studies (MADS)

Scholarship benefits

The ISS Global Impact Scholarship provides a 30% discount on tuition fees.

Students awarded this scholarship can also benefit from the 10% Early Bird discount, bringing the total tuition fee reduction to 40%.

Important: To benefit from both discounts, students must pay their tuition fees before 1 May. Students who receive the ISS Global Impact Scholarship after this deadline will still be eligible for the 30% discount, but not the additional 10% Early Bird discount.

How to apply

To apply for the ISS Global Impact Scholarship, please submit the following documents:

  • Motivation statement: A one-page statement explaining your motivation to study at ISS and why you should be considered for the scholarship.
  • Financial information: Supporting documents, usually in the form of bank statements, demonstrating your ability to cover the remaining tuition fees, living expenses and health insurance.

Scholarship applications are assessed on an ongoing basis between January and July for programmes starting in September of the same year. Successful applicants will be informed by the ISS Admission Office.

We encourage students to apply as early as possible, particularly if they wish to benefit from the additional Early Bird discount. Scholarships are awarded subject to available funding.

Please email your application and supporting documents to admission@iss.nl.

Please note: The ISS Global Impact Scholarship is not available to students intending to pursue a PhD at ISS.
