The Global Health and Economic Development Academic Team addresses health and development challenges facing low- and middle-income countries. 

The team will investigate the determinants of health disparities and scrutinize the effectiveness of health interventions, with a view to informing policies that strengthen health systems and reduce the burden of disease.

The research explores themes such as: 

  • universal health coverage (including health equity 
  • access to care
  • financial protection
  • health care financing, infrastructure and governance)
  • maternal and child health
  • sexual and reproductive health
  • the nutrition transition
